On September 20, 2020, Mezopotamya Agency (MA) published a news report titled “Dirt flows from the drinking water [tap] in Türkoğlu Prison” about the violations of rights in the Türkoğlu No. 1 Type L Closed Prison. An investigation was launched by the Kahramanmaraş Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office upon the criminal complaint of the prison director. As part of the investigation, MA Managing Editor Ferhat Çelik was summoned to give his statement (November 30).
