The Council of Personal Data Protection gave a fine on Cumhuriyet newspaper due to the news indicating that AKP İstanbul MP Ravza Kavakçı Kan was receiving two salaries. Cumhuriyet newspaper was given an administrative fine of 30 thousand lira on the grounds of Miyase İlknur’s news reports “Allegation of double salaries about Kavakçı, too” dated August 6, 2019 and “So-called engineering and questions to MP Kavakçı” dated August 10, 2019 (August 17).
