The Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) has imposed an administrative fine on Halk TV due to the criticisms of CHP Muğla MP Mürsel Alban, who attended the live broadcast of “Gökmen Karadağ ile Açıkça” (Openly with Gökmen Karadağ) program on August 3, 2021 and criticized the firefighting efforts. The reason for the fine has been cited as the violation of the principle of “media services shall be predicated on the principles of impartiality, truthfulness and accuracy and shall not impede the free formation of opinions within the society” (August 11).
