Within the scope of the operation, initiated by the Istanbul Anatolia Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, against Journalists and Writers Foundation which was shut down by decree-law, Behram Kılıç, former columnist for Zaman newspaper, Mehmet Gündem, former columnist for Milliyet newspaper and Nuh Gönültaş, former columnist for Zaman and Bugün newspapers were arrested for “membership in a terrorist organisation (FETÖ)” on November 9, 2017.
