The guest of TV show called “Günün Manşeti” (the Heading of the Day) and Yeni Şafak Newspaper columnist Hikmet Genç torn down the January 3rd 2017 issue of Cumhuriyet Newspaper and stated that the newspaper should be shut down because of the article “Intimidation of Laicists” published on the same day.
