Acquittal for Sedat Peker’s death threat: Standing trial at the İstanbul 7th Criminal Court of First Instance for threatening Habertürk newspaper columnist Fatih Altaylı on social media, Sedat Peker, who is convicted of leading a criminal organization, was acquitted. For his acquittal, it was enough for Peker to say in his last defense, “I indicated that even the fact that I had not killed him there proved that I was not a crime group leader. I have no intention of threat with this. In fact, I even find it odd that a lawsuit was filed against me” (January 22).
