With its ruling dated July 21, 2022, the İstanbul 13th Criminal Court of First Instance ruled that İ.B., who had threatened Cumhuriyet columnist Zülal Kalkandelen with rape following her articles against hunting, should be acquitted due to “lack of evidence.”
Threatened in 2020 due to her anti-hunting articles, Kalkandelen filed a criminal complaint against the person and a decision of non-prosecution was given following the first criminal complaint.
Kalkandelen filed a second criminal complaint against the person, but the court gave a ruling of acquittal (July 21).
