The camera footage regarding the intervention of an official against journalist Barış Pehlivan, who was sent to Silivri Prison in early March, showed the violence he had been subjected to. But the Prosecutor’s Office of Silivri gave a decision of non-prosecution on March 23 by alleging that “there was no evidence as to the complainant’s battery other than the abstract allegations and it was concluded on the basis of forensic medical reports, camera footage and witness statements that the complainant had not been battered” (June 9).
