A lawsuit was filed against Yeni Yaşam newspaper Chief Editor İnci Aydın on charge of “propagandizing for a terrorist organization” due to the news report “Is a new attack imminent?” (Yeni saldırı kapıda mı) published on July 17, 2020.
The indictment was accepted by the İstanbul 26th High Criminal Court in 2020 (September 16).
At the final hearing of the case held on April 20, 2021, the court board handed down its ruling following the defense statements of the attorneys and ruled for the acquittal of Aydın on the grounds that “the element of the crime did not arise” (April 20).
