An investigation was launched against Mezopotamya Agency (MA) reporter Ahmet Kanbal on the grounds of his Twitter post about an incident where several people, including children, had been battered and handcuffed behind their backs by the police in a house raid in Halfeti, Urfa in May 2019. While the journalist was facing possible charges of “propagandizing for a terrorist organization”, the prosecutor’s office gave a decision of non-prosecution (October 30).
