Journalist Faruk Arhan announced on September 14, 2021 that he gave his statement at the police department as part of an investigation launched against him for allegedly “provoking the public to hatred and hostility” as per the Article 216 of the Turkish Penal Code (TCK) on the grounds of a social media post. Arhan was reportedly summoned to depose over a tweet that he posted on July 31, 2021 (September 14).
