Emrullah Turanlı, owner of Taşyapı İnşaat, filed a complaint with the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office against BirGün columnist Gözde Bedeloğlu. The complaint concerns her article published on 19 September 2025 titled “Taşyapı’s foot doesn’t get a stone,” alleging the journalist committed the crimes of “insult, defamation, publicly disseminating misleading information, inciting hatred and enmity, and degrading the public.”
In his petition, Turanlı described himself as “a respected and well-known businessman, father of five.”
In her police statement, Bedeloğlu defended her work, stating: “The journalist’s duty is to present current public debates and act as a watchdog for the public. I shared my views in this context…”
