JinNews reporter Filiz Zeyrek was taken into custody on 30 March 2018 alongside with 31 other people due to their participance to the funeral of a YPG member called Şemdin Eye and her news concerning the funeral. She was released with a judicial control decision.
A lawsuit was filed based on the investigation and Filiz Zeyrek was standing trial for being a member of a terrorist organization and propagandizing for a terrorist organization alongside with 19 other defendants. Adana 13 Heavy Penal Court acquitted them for all charges. (24 September)
