Aysın Komitgan, former editor-in-chief of the news site Bursa’da Bugün, was detained for reporting the death of Fethullah Gülen—who is held responsible for the attempted coup—with the phrase “road accident” and expressing condolences. Her employment was also terminated due to the report. She was released the next day under judicial control measures.
