Gazete Patika reporter Yadigar Aygün was violently detained on 2 October while covering a march organized by the Socialist Party of the Oppressed (ESP) on İstanbul’s İstiklal Avenue in solidarity with the peoples of Palestine and Lebanon. The police intervened during speeches by five ESP members holding a banner, and Aygün was reportedly dragged on the ground and beaten during the detention.
