University students held a protest demonstration for Enes Kara, a university student who took his life due to the pressure that he had faced at the dorm of a religious community, in İstanbul’s Taksim in the evening on January 14, 2022. During the police intervention into the protest demonstration, Gazete Karınca reporter Yadigar Aygün and Yeni Demokrasi reporter Tuba Apaydın were taken into custody while covering the protest (January 14).
