Journalist Elif Bayburt was detained along with 20 others during a press statement held at Istanbul’s Şişhane Square. The protest was organized by the Dicle Fırat Journalists Association, Mezopotamya Women Journalists Association, and DİSK Press Union to condemn the killing of journalists Nazım Daştan and Cihan Bilgin in northern Syria. Seven of the detainees were later arrested.
