JinNews editor Nişmiye Güler was indicted for “propagandizing for a terrorist organization” (as per the Article 7/2 of the Anti-Terror Law / TMK) on the grounds of the news that she had posted on social media.
JinNews was described as a “so-called news platform” in the indictment issued as a result of the investigation conducted by the İstanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office. The indictment was accepted by the İstanbul 27th High Criminal Court. The first hearing will be held on January 19, 2023 (October 23).
At the hearing held on January 19, 2023, the court board ruled that Güler should be acquitted considering that her posts did not contain force or violence (January 19).
