The Criminal Court of First Instance in Istanbul granted a decision dated May 30, 2017 regarding the former Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Berat Albayrak’s compensation lawsuit for 50 thousand Turkish Liras against daily Evrensel due to its headline, entitled, “This is how they have written those headlines” published on March 10, 2014. Evrensel had shared the voice-record of a twitter user, “Başçalan” who has mentioned how headlines have been written to support the government after the 17-25 December corruption operations.
The court rejected the lawsuit due to the prescription.
