A lawsuit for damages was filed against Artı TV program presenter and BirGün newspaper columnist Erk Acarer over his news report titled “SADAT in the Army and Judiciary” (Orduda ve Yargıda SADAT) upon the criminal complaint of the SADAT International Defense Consultancy company and its founder Adnan Tanrıverdi.
An access block was imposed on the related news report.
Acarer and his attorney presented an excuse and did not attend the hearing at the İstanbul 18th Civil Court of First Instance on February 27, 2021. The court board ruled that Acarer should pay 10 thousand lira in total in damages, 5 thousand to the company and 5 thousand to Tanrıverdi (February 27).
