The District Municipality of Şahinbey filed a lawsuit against journalist Hazal Ocak over a news reported entitled “The Tender Game in Şahinbey” (Şahinbey’de İhale Oyunu) published on Cumhuriyet newspaper and requested 20 thousand Turkish Lira (TRY) in damages. While the first hearing of the lawsuit was expected to be held at the Gaziantep 6th Civil Court of First Instance on October 4, 2020, the hearing was adjourned until November 25 as the attorneys of the parties offered an excuse (October 14).
Ocak and her attorneys did not attend the hearing expected to be held on November 25. The next hearing will be held on March 3, 2021 (November 25).
At the hearing held on March 3, the court board dismissed the lawsuit (March 3).
