As reported by Cumhuriyet newspaper, Fatih Erdoğan, the spouse of Justice and Development Party (AKP) Ankara MP Asuman Erdoğan, and the Pasifik Gayrimenkul Yatırım İnşaat incorporation filed a lawsuit against Cumhuriyet newspaper and its Secretary General – columnist Işık Kansu and demanded 2 million lira in non-pecuniary damages for the news reports titled “State Giving a Hand to the Pro-Government” (Yandaşa Devlet Eli) and “Bankruptcy in the Pacific” (Pasifik’te Batık).

The Press Advertisement Institution (BİK) had cut the public ads of Cumhuriyet newspaper for 10 days over these reports.

At the hearing of the trial held by the Ankara 30th Civil Court of First Instance on November 3, 2021, the lawsuit seeking 2 million lira in non-pecuniary damages was dismissed by the court (November 3).
