The former president of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey İsmail Kahraman filed a lawsuit for non-Pecuniary Damages of 50 thousand Turkish Liras against the journalist for daily Sözcü Yılmaz Özdil at the Ankara Civil Court of First Instance on Duty on the grounds that his personal rights have been attacked concerning Özdil’s article dated 16 November 2017. Kahraman also filed a criminal complaint against Özdil to the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office on the grounds that “insulting the public official” and “Degrading Turkish Nation, State of Turkish Republic, the Organs and Institutions of the State.
