Taken into custody despite presenting her press card during the protest against the appointment of trustees to Diyarbakır municipalities in 2019 and sentenced to 5 months in prison in the ensuing trial, journalist Yelda Çiçek made an individual application to the Constitutional Court on the grounds that her freedom of press and expression had been violated (August 28).
