Devrim Avcı, the attorney of Evrensel newspaper, appealed to the İstanbul 3rd Civil Court of First Instance and demanded the reversal of the three-day public ad cut imposed on the newspaper by the Press Advertisement Institution (BİK) on December 22, 2020 over the news report “Cumhruyet summoned to depose over unlicensed villa news”. Having taken the BİK’s public ad cuts to court four times before, attorney Avcı applied to the Constitutional Court as these applications were rejected (January 22).
