A lawsuit has been filed against Z.B. and S.M., the suspects who carried out an armed attack on journalist and Başka Gazete editor-in-chief Yaman Kaya on November 13, 2023, in Bursa, after Kaya exposed urban rents to the public. The two suspects will stand trial for “attempted murder” at the Bursa 6th High Criminal Court on May 8 (February 20).

The first hearing of the case was held at the Bursa 6th High Criminal Court. The indictment requested a sentence of up to 15 years in prison for the suspects on charges of “attempted murder.” The court decided to release the suspects, and the second hearing was postponed to October 2 (May 8, 2024).
