An investigation was launched against Yeni Yaşam newspaper’s managing editor Osman Akın months after the İstanbul 9th Criminal Judgeship of Peace, as per its decision dated June 8, 2022, gave a confiscation order for the printed newspaper’s June 7, 2022 issue on the grounds of the news and articles.
Giving his statement as part of the investigation launched by the İstanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office on charge of “propagandizing for a terrorist organization”, Akın said that the news did not constitute a crime and dismissed the charges (January 25).
