Perihan Mağden, a columnist for several media outlets including Taraf and P24, is accused of “Insulting the President of the Republic” over an article published in Nokta magazine in April 2016. İnan Ketenciler, a reporter of T24 news site, is also a defendant in the case due to re-publishing the mentioned article.

The writer Perihan Mağden was convicted to a judicial fine of 7 thousand Turkish Lira on charge of “Insulting the President of the Republic”. İnan Ketenciler was acquitted.
