After Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) leader Devlet Bahçeli spoke at the MHP’s weekly group meeting at the Parliament on January 24, 2023, journalists asked Bahçeli questions. Yıldız Yazıcıoğlu, one of the journalists who asked Bahçeli a question, was pushed aside by his guards and party members due to her question.
Yıldız Yazıcıoğlu asked a question about Sinan Ateş, a former head of the Idealist Hearths Education and Culture Foundation and a lecturer at the Department of History of Hacettepe University, who was killed in Ankara on January 30, 2022. Bahçeli said to Yazıcıoğlu, “Mind your own business.” Following this response, Yazıcıoğlu was moved away from the area by Bahçeli’s guards and MHP members who physically intervened against her (January 24).
