Filming the police intervention against a group of football fans following a football match between Bartınspor-Polatlı Belediyespor in Bartın on December 11, 2022, Halil Tekin, the owner of the Halkın Sesi newspaper, was subjected to police violence.
While he was filming the police intervention, the police dragged him on the ground. Police officers made him lie on the ground, battered him and tried to take his phone. Protesting the incident, the Press Council made a call for giving the necessary penalty to the police officers who had inflicted violence on Tekin (December 11).
