Nokta magazine was shut down due to its cover entitled “November the 2nd: The beginning of Turkey’s civil war” and its directors including the chief editors of Nokta Magazine Cevheri Güven, Murat Çapan were sentenced to 22 years and 6 months of imprisonment in the case in which they were being charged with “provoking the citizens to engage in armed revolt against the Government of the Turkish Republic” at the 14th High Criminal Court in Istanbul. The court acquitted them on the charges of “propagandising for a terrorist organisation”.
