The Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) imposed a five-day broadcast suspension for journalist Hüsnü Mahalli’s remarks on an episode of the show “Medya Mahallesi” that aired on 16 June 2020 (1 July).
On July 28, the Ankara 3rd Administrative Court has given a ruling of stay of execution for the five-day “blackout” imposed by the Television and Radio Supreme Council (RTÜK) on pro-opposition broadcaster Halk TV (28 July). At the night of September 27, the five-day broadcast suspension imposed by the RTÜK on Halk TV entered into effect (September 28).
