The Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) has examined the statements of the “Gün Başlıyor” (Day Begins) program’s presenter, who said, “The officials of the organization headed by [President] Erdoğan and Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu can go in djemevis [Alevis’ places of worship] and pee easily in Turkey”, and concluded that the related broadcast has violated the principle of “…a broadcast shall not be against the principle of respect for human dignity and privacy and it shall not have remarks humiliating, degrading or slandering persons or institutions beyond the boundaries of criticism”. An administrative fine has been fined on TELE 1 TV channel.
