The İstanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office imposed a ban on the printing, distribution and sale of four issues of Atılılm newspaper on October 28, 2022 on the grounds that it allegedly “propagandized for a terrorist organization” (as per the Article 7/2 of the Anti-Terror Law / TMK).
As for the reason for taking the newspaper off the shelves, the prosecutor’s office cited the allegations about the use of chemical weapons by the Turkish Armed Forces mentioned in the 82nd (September 30), 83rd (October 7), 84th (October 14) and 85th (October 21) issues of Atılım.
