Barış Pehlivan and Suat Toktaş are being on trial for “insulting a public official” following a complaint filed by former HSK member Hamit Kocabey.

During the hearing of the case held at Ankara 39th Criminal Court of First Instance on November 30, the court separated Pehlivan’s file and merged it with the case pending at Ankara 19th Criminal Court of First Instance for the same reason. In his final opinion, the prosecutor demanded Toktaş’s acquittal on the grounds that “the legal elements of the imputed offense have not been established” and accepted the lawyers’ request for time for their statements on the merits. The next hearing is scheduled for December 21 (November 30).
