Halk TV presenter Ece Üner was taken to testify under police force due to a social media post in which she reacted to the travel ban imposed on journalist İsmail Saymaz. The prosecutor cited her 15 March 2025 post on X, where she wrote: “The character assassinations of the leftover FETÖ operation kids have become unbearable!”
Üner was questioned on allegations of “publicly insulting judicial bodies” (Turkish Penal Code Article 301) and “attempting to influence a fair trial” (TPC Article 288). The prosecutor referred her to the Criminal Judgeship of Peace with a request for judicial control. The court ruled to release Üner under a travel ban and an obligation to sign at the police station once a week.
