The owner of Gerger Fırat newspaper, Hacı Boğatekin was sentenced to pay compensation for his piece about parliamentarian Mehmet Metiner on the grounds of attacking his personal rights. The Constitutional Court decided that Boğatekin’s rights were violated and he shall be paid to 3600 Turkish liras of compensation for non-pecuniary damages and 2000 Turkish Liras for the judicial expenses.
