The Constitutional Court decided that the detention order of journalist Murat Aksoy by the Penal Judgeship of Peace had not been adequately established. In the light of this, the Constitutional Court held that the imprisonment of the journalist for his articles and social media posts violated his right to liberty and security as well as his right to freedom of the press and expression, and awarded the applicant Aksoy non-pecuniary damage.
