The Constitutional Court announced the decision of journalist Nazlı Ilıcak’s application for numerous alleged violations of the proceeding, which resulted in the conviction of overthrowing the constitutional order through violence and force.

The court found that the allegations were ill-founded and domestic remedies have not been exhausted in relation to allegations of ill-treatment. Moreover, the Court decided that the applicant’s detention had a legal basis. Finally, The Constitutional Court (AYM) did not find any claims of non-privatized intervention in the context of freedom of the press and no other violation of freedom of expression.
