Istanbul 2nd Criminal Court of First Instance continues the trial of journalist Erk Acarer on the allegations of insulting the President of the Republic” in his article entitled ‘Herkese var, Berkin’e yok’ in Birgün Daily. However, the court could not sit since the presiding judge was on leave.

At the hearing on 28 November, the court decided to get information regarding his address in order to take his statement of the journalist living in Germany. The trial was adjourned until April 9 (November 28).

On October 23, 2020, the İstanbul 2nd Criminal Court of First Instance adjourned the hearing till January 19, 2021. There is a warrant against Erk Acarer (October 23).

As the attorneys of the parties presented excuses for the hearing on January 19, the hearing was adjourned until a later date (January 19).

At the hearing on January 2, it was decided to wait for the execution of the arrest warrant for the journalist living in Germany (January 2).
