Police blocked the public statement of HDP Kadıköy District in relation trustee assignments in Diyarbakır, Van and Mardin Municipalities while taking ETHA reporter Tunahan Turhan who was following the events, into custody. The reporter was released after his statement at the İstanbul Anatolian Courthouse.

İstanbul Anatolian 13.Assize Criminal Court accepted the indictment of public prosecution office on November 2019. Journalist is standing trial for allegedly violating Law on Meetings and Demonstrations alongside with Taylan Özgür Öztaş. The first hearing of the case will be held on March 18.

Öztaş and Turhan did not attend the fourth hearing of the case on September 29, 2021. The court ruled that the statements of the defendants whose statements had not yet been taken should be taken and the deficiencies should be rectified. The next hearing will be held on March 8, 2022 (September 29).

Öztaş and Turhan and their lawyers did not attend the hearing on March 8, 2022. The court board ruled that the deficiencies should be rectified. The next hearing will be held on September 27 (March 8).

At the hearing held on September 27, 2022, the court accepted the requests of other defendants’ lawyers. The next hearing will be held on February 28, 2023 (September 27).
