Police intervened against the protest march held in İstanbul’s Taksim on September 20, 2022 in response to the suspicious death of Mahsa Amini in police custody in Iran after she had been detained for “not abiding by hijab rules”. Police officers attempted to hinder the press members trying to cover the protests by battering them with their shields. A police officer threatened journalist Emre Orman by telling him “I will deal with you particularly” (September 20).
