Responding to a Rûdaw reporter who asked a question about lawyer Jiyan Tosun on November 15, Victory Party Chair Ümit Özdağ uttered a threat, saying, “I will have Rûdaw banned.”

Following the bombing in İstanbul’s Taksim on November 13, 2022, Victory Party Vice Chair Adem Taşkaya targeted lawyer Jiyan Tosun as “the person who planted the bomb.” However, it later turned out that the person who did the act was a citizen of Syria named Ahlam Albashir and was captured alive.

The related act of targeting was asked to Özdağ, who went to the scene of the incident in Taksim’s İstiklal Avenue, by a Rûdaw reporter. To the question “Will you expel him from your party,” Özdağ said, “We will do the following: When the Victory Party comes to power, Rûdaw TV will be unable to cross the border into Turkey” (November 15).
