An Internet user threatened journalist Serkan Ocak, who posted a video on his social media account where Ordu Gürgentepe Mayor Yaşar Şahin was seen to be attempting to dissuade municipality workers from unionizing with threats. Following his messages criticizing Şahin for muddy roads, he was threatened with the words: “Serkan; if you are a man, you will remove that Gürgentepe news. You messed up our Gürgentepe. When you come to Gürgentepe, know that I am the person who will mess with you. The district has very nice spots, why don’t you report on them, you report shitty news…” (November 14).
