Mehmet Oflaz, a reporter for ANKA News Agency, will stand trial on charges of “violating the confidentiality of an investigation” (Article 285 of the Turkish Penal Code) over a report he wrote while working for Cumhuriyet daily, titled “7,500 tons of grain stolen from TMO: Supreme Court ruling on Konya Governor Vahdettin Özkan.”

The case was filed upon a complaint by Vahdettin Özkan, who was then the Governor of Konya. The article reported that the Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office of the Court of Cassation had decided not to proceed with a criminal complaint against Özkan.

The trial will be held at the Konya Criminal Court of First Instance on 1 December 2025.
