The Mersin Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office filed a lawsuit against Şirin Çoban and İlker İlkan, employees of the Azadiya Welat newspaper, who were detained and arrested in September 2016 for “membership in a terrorist organisation (PKK)” and “propagandising for a terrorist organisation (PKK)”. The trial began at the 8th High Criminal Court of Mersin on October 12, 2017.
