On 28 September 2018, the 2nd High Criminal Court of Mardin sentenced Abdulkadir Turay, the correspondent of the now-closed DİHA Agency, who was arrested on May 9, 2016 for allegedly “membership in a terrorist organisation (PKK)”, to 9 years of imprisonment. In the same case, the other nine defendants were sentenced to 65 years and 3 months of imprisonment.
