The 9th High Criminal Court of Mersin, with the decision dated 5 December 2017, sentenced reporter for now-closed DİHA Berivan Altan who was released from detention on August 11, to 1 year and 3 months imprisonment for “membership in a terrorist organisation” on the grounds of her news articles published on May 25 and June 12, 2016 and a music video which she has shared on her social media.
