The 26th Criminal Court of First Instance sentenced Sedat Sur 11 months and 20 days of imprisonment for “propagandising for a terrorist organisation” in a case where the accusations stemmed from his reports on Sur and his social media posts concerning the trustees appointed by the government to the Mardin Municipality in 2017. He has been released on November 26, 2018.
