The 4th High Criminal Court of Kocaeli, sentenced Murat Dağdeviren, the chief editor Demokrat Gebze newspaper, which was closed down with the Decree-Law on October 10, 2017, to 7 years and 6 months of imprisonment for “membership in a terrorist organisation (FETÖ)” on the grounds that he has been using ByLock app.  He was acquitted of the violation of “The Law on the Prevention of the Financing of Terrorism”.Dağdeviren was detained before the coup attempt on 15 July, 2016 and released; then again on 23 July he was detained and arrested.
